Running the Pipe is a tried and true finish for the single leg takedown in jiu jitsu and wrestling. While there are many more explosive takedowns to get your opponent to the ground, this one works consistently.
Start from the single leg position, with their leg in between your legs:
- have your hook grip low by your opponent's ankle
- step away with your outside leg (in the video it's your left leg)
- putting pressure with your shoulder into your opponent's thigh
- turn their back into the mat by holding the leg close and turning your chest
